Izziyana Suhaimi's Emboideries : a Refreshing New Artist With a Vision - ArtLife Magazine

1/12

As resurrections of recycled fashions and music are becoming more common, it was a breath of fresh air to see Singaporean artist Izziyana Suhaimi's embroidered sketches. We live in a world of mass production, instant satisfaction and the access to 3D software, printers and digital painting. With all these advances in technology Suhaimi prefers to work with her hands using the time consuming craft technique which only gives her more satisfaction. She enjoys mixing traditional and popular culture for a new modern direction concentrating on the youth. As a lover of haute couture I can truly admire the time and effort it goes into hand stitching every detail. The final result is so unique and beautiful, no wonder she has had her work in exhibitions in Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan and Japan. Keep an eye out for her in the future…
